Philippians 4:8 moments?

In Philippians 4:8-9, God promises true peace. He inspired His servant, Paul, to write these encouraging words: “… whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” That runs so counter to everything our culture offers us. But if we will hear the truth of Philippians 4:8, and give it a try, it will change our perspective on God, life, our family and friends—everything.

Time enough

Butterflies live an average of three to four weeks. Some live just a few days. Truly their lives are measured not in months, but in moments, as Bengali poet, Rabindranath Tagore noted. And yet they have time enough. For what? To simply be the butterflies that God created them to be. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us that God has made everything beautiful for its own time, and He has planted eternity in the human heart. We stress about being the good mom, wife, friend, business owner. We never seem to have enough time. But God calls us to first, just be wth Him. Jesus said to abide with Him. Dwell with Him. Sit quietly with Him. He is our source of power, strength, life… time. Apart from Him, we can’t do anything. Apart from Christ, there is no time for anything. With Christ, month or moment, there is time enough.


Greater love
